Council to open portal on Aug 23-24 for fee submission

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) offered a two-day time to the students, who intended to sit the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) but were unable to complete the application, to finalise the process.

According to a press release issued here, this option would only be open for a limited period of 48 hours – 23rd to 24th August 2023 – adding that the one-time-only facility would be provided across the country.

The PM&DC has already rescheduled the MDCAT for September 10 on the direction of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar to allow the students more time to prepare of the test, the press release said.

Till the last date of applying for the MDCAT, 202,336 candidates submitted their applications for the registrations but only 189,261 candidates were able to successfully complete the registration process.

The press release added that almost 9,000 candidates, who had submitted their applications but were unable to complete their registration due to non-payment of fees or any reason.

“Therefore, keeping in view the larger interest of the students and allowing the remaining students who were not able to complete their MDCAT registration … are being given limited time by the council to complete their applications,” it said.

“In order to facilitate the students, PM&DC President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj allowed to open the portal for submission of pending fees for MDCAT registration, so maximum candidates could take part in the MDCAT exam,” it added.
