KARACHI:

An investigation into the murder of a retired government officer's son within his Gulistan-e-Johar residence has been initiated. The police have raised suspicions over the actions of the deceased's relatives, who appear to have tampered with potential evidence.

As per the available information, 29-year-old Syed Murtaza Haider Rizvi met an untimely demise in a perplexing shooting incident at his home in Block 19 of Shahra-e-Faisal police station jurisdiction on a Sunday night. A case was registered at Shahra-e-Faisal police station, naming an unknown individual as the suspected perpetrator. The complaint was lodged by the victim's father, Syed Mohtsham Abbas Rizvi.

According to law enforcement officials, the family initially attempted to conceal the incident, with the hospital reporting it an hour after its occurrence. There are suspicions that the deceased's mobile phone is currently in the possession of the relatives, who seem to have hidden it. Moreover, no bullet shell was discovered at the scene, and bed sheets had been washed, raising further concerns.
