Funeral prayers of six soldiers who embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly against terrorists during an intense exchange of fire between own troops and terrorists in the general area Asman Manza, South Waziristan district earlier today, were offered at Wana.

The martyrs will be laid to rest with full military honours in their respective hometowns, military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Tuesday.

Corps Commander Peshawar and other senior serving officers attended the funeral prayers, it added.

Armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute and committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the motherland at all costs, the ISPR maintained.

The military's media wing had earlier relayed that at least four terrorists were also killed while two were injured in the fighting.

Sanitisation of the area was underway to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, it added.
