In response to the prevailing economic challenges, the government has raised rental charges for official vehicles for both federal and provincial government employees by a whooping 100 per cent.
This measure will directly impact the rates at which government employees can reserve government vehicles for various purposes.
According to an official notification, adjustments have been made to the rental charges for cars, jeeps, and vans utilised by government employees for family outings, transporting goods for events such as weddings, and other essential needs.
The rates for air-conditioned coaches have been raised from Rs12 per km to Rs24 per km, while vehicles like Wagon and Toyota Hiace will now cost Rs8 per km compared to the previous rate of Rs4 per km.
Bus fares have seen an adjustment from Rs20 per km to Rs40 per km, and the fare for mini trucks will increase from Rs4 per km to Rs8 per km.
Notably, both the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) and AGIGA have voiced their strong opposition to this fare increase.
