LAHORE:

Four new sightseeing buses for Lahore were inducted on Tuesday.

The single-deck buses started transporting tourists to three historical locations in Lahore.

Two of the new buses are air conditioned and the other two open deck with capacities of 29 and 35 seats.

Punjab Tourism Secretary Asif Bilal Lodhi said on the occasion that new routes would be shortly launched with the fresh buses.

Caretaker Tourism Minister Aamir Mir said the new buses should also be used for visits to the Wagah border and Kartarpur Gurdwara.

The sales and tour promotion wing of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) will also use the buses to conduct tours, he added.

He said more buses would be brought as part of a World Bank initiative to facilitate visitors to go to Murree, Patriata and other places in the northern region. He said the number of tourist buses operating in the city had now increased to seven.
