RAWALPINDI:

A court in Rawalpindi on Saturday found a man guilty of making obscene videos of a female student and blackmailing her while sentencing him to two years in prison in Rawalpindi.

Additional district and sessions judge Ahsan Mahmod Malik issued the order against the accused Hameed Ullah, who was also fined Rs2 million.

The police arrested the criminal from the courtroom as soon as the verdict was announced and shifted him to Adiala Jail.

The female student had filed a case against the accused in the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The FIA had arrested Hameed in 2021 but he was later released on bail.

The court in its decision declared that the accused had committed a heinous and immoral crime and no relief should be given to the criminal.

The victim expressed her gratitude to the court for delivering justice. She urged other victims to come forward and pursue cases against their blackmailers so that they are punished.

A large number of victims in such cases often do not pursue legal channels against their tormentors.
