Sukkur gets new SIUT Medical Complex
Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has articulated a vision of offering free world-class cardiac, renal, and paediatric healthcare across all districts of Sindh.
He shared his thoughts during the inauguration of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) Medical Complex in Sukkur district on Tuesday.
The event was graced by the presence of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho, and SIUT Director Dr Adeeb Rizvi.
Bilawal emphasised the commitment to providing free healthcare services to the people in alignment with the PPP's manifesto.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasised that accessible and high-quality healthcare for all citizens remains a top priority for his government.
Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho appreciated Dr Rizvi's role in establishing centres in Nawabshah and Sukkur.
SIUT Director Dr Adeeb Rizvi, drew attention to the fact that nearly 50 per cent of Pakistan's population falls under the low-income category.
He shared that SIUT conducts over 700,000 dialysis sessions annually across its eight centres and has performed more than 6,900 transplants.
Dr Rizvi noted that the institute offers cutting-edge services, including robotic surgery and cancer treatment with cyclotron facilities. He emphasised that the new medical complex represents another stride towards enhancing healthcare accessibility.
