Security measures: Security beefed up in Malakand on Eid

SWAT:

To tackle any unpleasant incident on Eidul Fitr, a strict security plan has been charted for Malakand Division, said a press release here on Tuesday.

Malakand Deputy Inspector General Akhtar Hayat Khan said all efforts would be made to ensure peace in the Malakand Division during Eid holidays, “Additional police troops would be deployed throughout the division to ensure the safety of the people. Malakand police is on high alert and prepared to tackle every challenge.”

Security has also been beefed up on all entrance and exit points of Mingora and holidays for the police have been postponed, “Mobile teams will be on patrol 24-hours-a-day while all check posts will be on high alert.”

He further added that police and law enforcement agencies have been directed to keep an eye on any suspicious people and vehicles. “Miscreants and lawbreakers will be dealt with an iron hand,” he added.

Plainclothes policemen will be deployed at Eidgahs and mosques to control any unruly situation and all important squares and markets will be strictly monitored, “A compact monitoring system for security has also been devised to control the overall situation. NIC will be checked at all check posts.

Fortunately, local people are showing interest and cooperating with law enforcement agencies”, he added.  Higher police officials will also patrol their areas at intervals and the DIG has directed the chief traffic officer to ensure smooth traffic flow in Mingora Bazar.
