A rally was organized outside the Islamia University to mark the 'Yom-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.
Islamia University Vice Chancellor Prof Naveed Akhtar expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the occasion and condemning the unconstitutional and oppressive actions taken by India on August 5, 2019.
He emphasised that the abrogation by India of Article 370 went against United Nations resolutions on the right to self-determination and mutual agreements between Pakistan and India.
He stated that the Kashmiri people had firmly rejected the move, which was had been enforced through coercive violence. Multiple events were organised by the university to highlight the Kashmir cause.
