Earthquake tremors felt in parts of Pakistan

No loss of life or property was reported in 5.8 magnitude quake

Earthquake tremors were felt in various parts of the country including the federal capital Islamabad on Saturday night, Express News reported.

According to the United States geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded at 5.8, with the epicentre of the earthquake recorded 47 kilometres southwest of Jurm in neighbouring Afghanistan at a depth of 207 kilometres.

Tremors were felt in Lahore, Peshawar, Lower Dir, Bajaur, Haripur, Sheikhupura, Rawalakot, and other areas of the country.

In areas where the tremors were felt more acutely, people thronged out of their houses praying for safety. Fear and panic spread among the people due to the tremors.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has sought report regarding the potential damaged caused by the earthquake.

No loss of life or property was reported as yet.
