KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh Assembly, poised to complete its term, has passed a historic number of legislations during this period, and its performance is marked by several groundbreaking initiatives, notably in flood management. The Sindh government has been proactive in addressing both disasters and various challenges.

Speaking to journalists at the Sindh Assembly Media Corner on Friday, Sharjeel mentioned, “We all collaborated under the guidance of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during the challenging flood situation and provided relief to the victims to the best of our abilities, as well as all institutions fulfilled their roles effectively, and would continue to do so in future as well.”

To a question about the silence of Sindh government regarding the case of the innocent girl, Rizwana, he said the incident of torture against Rizwana did not occur within our jurisdiction. Nevertheless, the image of Pakistan was tarnished due to the incident involving the torture of the 14-year-old girl, Rizwana, by her employer - a judge’s wife.

He said no suo-motto notice was taken against a judge’s wife for hiring an underage employee and brutally torturing her during her employment. “Why should the judge’s wife be exempted from the law? I earnestly appeal for justice in this case.”
