Political parties' heads asked to file tax returns

ISLAMABAD:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed the heads of all political parties to file their tax returns for the financial year 2022-23 with it.

According to details, under Section 210 of the Election Act, 2017, returns are required to be submitted within 60 days at the end of the financial year.

The details of annual income, expenditure, funding sources and liabilities are required to be submitted through a chartered accountant on Form D.

The printed form is available in the offices of ECP Secretariat Islamabad and provincial election commissions.

Form D performa for disclosing the sources of funds is also available on the ECP website. Overwriting on Form D will not be acceptable.
