Transfers and postings: Ministry of Industries’ joint secretary posted thrice in four days

Chairman OGRA’s forced leave extended for three months.

Transferred three times in last four days, Mian Muhammad Zulqarnain Aamir was eventually appointed Ministry of Production joint secretary by the federal government on Tuesday.


While serving as joint secretary in the Ministry of Industries, Aamir was transferred to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) as director general on August 27. Later, the Establishment Division issued a notification on August 29, where his appointment as Pemra chief was cancelled and he was asked to report to the Establishment Division.

Meanwhile, the federal government has extended the forced leave of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) Chairman Tauqir Sadiq for a period of three months with effect from August 25 until further orders. Till then, OGRA Vice-Chairman Mir Kamal Marri will serve as the acting chairman under the Ogra Ordinance 2002, while Ogra Member Sabar Hussain will serve as vice chairman.

Meanwhile Planning and Development Division Additional Secretary Mahmood Akhtar, a BS-21 officer of the District Management Group, has been asked to report to the Establishment Division as he has been replaced by Chaudhary M Azam, a BS-21 officer of the Secretariat Group who was on special duty with the Establishment Division.
