LPG distributors announce countrywide strike today

Shops will be closed for four hours; complete shutter-down strike to be observed on Aug 5, 6

The Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Distributors Association on Sunday announced a countrywide strike on Monday (today) against price hike.

The LPG Distributors Association made the announcement against the mafia for raising the prices of LPG in an emergency meeting held here.

LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said in the meeting that this strike was not against the government but against the mafia which “illegally increases the prices of LPG”. He said that the shops will be closed for four hours on Monday.

Khokhar added that there would be a complete shutter-down strike for four hours across the country, while a complete strike will be held across the country for two days (Aug 5 and 6).

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) announced the per kilo LPG price at Rs177 as of July 1, 2023. According to Ogra, the 11.8-kilogramme cylinder of LPG is priced at Rs2,092.13.
