KALA SHAH KAKU:

Fire broke out in a bakery in Muridke GT Road after a cylinder blast.

Four people sustained serious burn injuries while all the three floors of the bakery were reduced to rubble.

The injured were identified as Saqlain Mushtaq, Ahsanullah, Haji Mohammad Sharif and Irfan. They were shifted to the hospital by Rescue 1122.

The condition of two persons, including the owner of the bakery, was stated to be critical.

Windowpanes of nearby buildings were also shattered by the explosion.

Fire also gutted a car parked in front of the bakery.

Rescue 1122 extinguished the fire. Sources said that the blast destroyed goods worth millions of rupees.

The bakery was part of a well-known franchise in Muridke GT Road.

The sound of the explosion was heard far and wide. In the first week of this month, fire in the kitchen of a house in the suburb of Sadiqabad had claimed three lives.

The fire broke out due to a leakage from a gas cylinder.

Rao Akhtar and his son, Rao Shabbir Ahmed, and a friend of his, Muhammad Imran, had been in the kitchen, and they had put a fan at the door to the kitchen. Due to the air from the fan they could not smell the leaking gas and unwittingly lit a match stick.

No sooner had they lit the match stick than a blast shook the kitchen, and a fire blazed across the house.

All the three men received serious burn injuries.

They were rushed to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan and were admitted to burns unit of the hospital where they died of their injuries.

Mohammad Imran had left behind six daughters. He had been the sole breadwinner of the family.
