Lahore DIG Shariq Jamal found dead
Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Shariq Jamal was found dead at a rented apartment in the city's Nishtar Colony area early on Saturday.
According to reports, the police have taken a woman and a servant into custody to probe the matter.
The woman reportedly had taken Jamal to a private hospital in the city’s DHA area. Jamal’s residence is also situated in the same area.
As per the details, the victim had marks of bleeding on his mouth and face.

Senior police officers including SSP CIA Liaquat Malik, SP Model Town Ammara Sherazi and others visited the crime scene to collect evidence.
The police officer’s body was initially moved to Jinnah Hospital for an autopsy. However, Jamal’s family members refused to initiate any further legal action.
Therefore, after completion of formalities under section 174 of CrPC (death not involving any criminal offence), the body was handed over to the family.
