‘Rural hygiene issues to be resolved’

WaterAid-led consortium to spearhead capacity building project

WaterAid-led consortium has decided to spearhead the project aimed at enhancing capacity building of the communities in the villages of Punjab.

Other organisations that inked the agreement to introduce the communities about the WASH sector included the Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), the M&C Saatchi World Services Pakistan and the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) under the “Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project”.

"This project involves promoting hygiene in public spaces, encouraging baby WASH practices for mothers and children,” said Arif Jabbar Khan, country director of WaterAid.

Asadullah, CEO of PRMSC, said, "This pilot is crucial to achieving our overall objectives."

Arifa Mazhar, CEO of SPO, said, “We are eager to implement our learning and experiences from two decades of work.”

Afzal Hussain, MD of M&C Saatchi World Services Pakistan, said, “We look forward to finding innovative, creative solutions.”
