Play ‘Thapki Pyaar Ki’ staged at PAC

Director says drama is the best way to highlight social issues

A drama based on social issues ‘Thapki Pyaar Ki’ was presented at the Punjab Arts Council on Friday.

Pakistan Artist Welfare Foundation Chairman Zaheer Iqbal Chaudhry was the special guest on the occasion. The play has been written by Muhammad Aslam Bhatti while the directions have been given by Rameez Raja. Raja Mustafa was the producer of the play. The prominent characters of the play included Noor Shararti, Ayesha Rajput, Sofia Ali, Jhalak Ali, Rizwana Khan, Riyaz Khan, Liaquat Shah, Shahzad Pappu, Arshad Khan, Aqeel Khokhar, Sahar Ali, Nadeem Rajput, Sonia Khan and Kiran Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry said that plays written on reform themes are closer to reality, due to which their effects are also long-lasting. Arts Council is always trying to promote family dramas, he added.

The golden age will return when families flock to the theatres to watch the drama, he said, adding that all the characters in the drama have shown the essence of excellent acting, which deserves all the praise.

Punjab Arts Council, Rawalpindi Director Waqar Ahmed said that drama is the best way to highlight social issues. Punjab Arts Council has always graced the stage with only quality plays, he said, adding that providing the best entertainment to the public is the council’s top priority.
