Awn Chaudhry has filed a chamber appeal on Wednesday, challenging the objections raised by the Supreme Court registrar regarding his petition seeking a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In his plea, Chaudhry argues that the principle established in the Justice Qazi Faez Isa presidential reference case affirms the accountability of public-office holders. Therefore, he contends that his petition is admissible and should be considered by the court.
The petitioner stated that the PTI chairman made hateful speeches in the context of the events of May 9. Furthermore, he said that the Supreme Court issued notices to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the defence minister in the case against military courts.
The petitioner requested the apex court to set aside the objections raised by the registrar and hear his petition.
