BISP disburses Rs63b to over 7m families

ISLAMABAD:

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has disbursed more than Rs63 billion among over 7 million beneficiary women under the 4th quarterly tranche of Benazir Kafaalat for the Financial Year 2022-23

The number of registered beneficiary families entitled to a quarterly installment of Rs9,000 each is 9 million under Benazir Kafaalat.

The BISP has already released over Rs81 billion to Bank Alfalah and HBL – its partner banks – for disbursement of the cash among the beneficiaries through their retail distribution network.

“Along with the Kafaalat scheme, Benazir educational scholarships are also being awarded to the children of registered families; however, 70 per cent attendance in the school is mandatory to receive the scholarships,” said the programme spokesman.

Responding to the fraud through text messages, the BISP spokesman reiterated that messages from the program are sent only from 8171 and message from any other number should not be trusted.
