A spokesperson for the Rawalpindi police said on Monday that the assistant sub-inspector (ASI) who filed a complaint of ‘usage of improper language’ by a superior officer did so after the officer in question pursued corruption allegations against the ASI.
The spokesperson added that the request had been received by Rawalpindi city police officer (CPO) and was currently undergoing legal review.
ASI Shehzad Zafar of the Dhamial police station submitted a complaint with the Rawalpindi police chief against the Saddar Circle ASP.
The complaint stated that the woman officer used derogatory language and demeaning behaviour while urging the city police officer (CPO) to take action against the ASP.
It stated that it is his duty is to present various petitioners and parties before the ASP. “Whenever we appeared before her, the ASP's behaviour was unprofessional and often disrespectful,” it continued.
The applicant stated that there was one person who witnessed these episodes while citing the name of another ranker stationed at the police station.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson said that ASI Zafar had been called by the ASP for a probe into the allegations of corruption. After the accusation was proven and action was taken, ASI Shehzad Zafar not only started this campaign against the officer. He also shared the application on social media in an attempt to make it go viral, the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson continued that the ASI’s conduct had not been acceptable and departmental actions were conducted against him at different times in the past.
“The Saddar Circle ASP is a doctor and a dedicated officer. The accusations against her popped up soon after the complaint against the inspector,” the spokesperson added.
