KARACHI:

Mayor Murtaza Wahab has assured a delegation of the All Pakistan Cable Operators Association (APCOA) of full cooperation in laying the dangling and tangled cables in the city under the ground.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the mayor with a delegation of APCOA lead by its Chairman, Khalid Arain.

“Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) should cooperate with us and exempt us from road-cutting charges," Arain told Wahab.

The mayor assured them of his utmost commitment to resolving the issues faced by the cable operators.

Khalid requested the metropolitan corporation to abolish the road-cutting charges and formulate a legislation in this regard.

Wahab asked Arain to first lay the cables underground on two roads, adding that the same model would then be implemented on other roads.
