LAHORE:

In an effort to enhance the safe city project and expand surveillance capabilities, the Chinese contractor company has imported a wide range of essential equipment. This includes cameras, power batteries, LCDs, and various other technical items required for the project.

With the directive from Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar, the company was instructed to swiftly complete the procurement process and ensure the timely arrival of the necessary equipment before Eid.

The company has been assigned a target to activate 2,000 PSCA cameras by August 14. The activation will also encompass comprehensive software integration, including facial recognition software. Under the agreement, the Chinese company bears the responsibility of ensuring the project's full functionality, briefed the Managing Director PSCA Muhammad Kamran Khan.

He also pointed out that the contractor Chinese company has to restore all the hardware and software of the project on its own cost.

The import of machinery for the Safe City project was facilitated through extensive negotiations and numerous high-level meetings.
