Commissioner Aamir Khattak said on Tuesday that the Punjab government had approved the development package for the Multan division.
He said that the package included construction of the flyover at Chak RS railway crossing at a cost of Rs1,400 million, construction of 19 new parks in Multan district at a cost of Rs200 million and the establishment of a cadet college at a cost of Rs700 million.
He said that the caretaker chief minister had been informed about demarcation of the waste management company and cleanliness problems in the remote areas of the city. He said that the scope of the waste management company had now been increased from 68 union councils to 86 union councils as Rs600 million would be spent on expenses and other things.
Likewise, the construction of a park and a food street around Fort Qasim, upgrading and restoration of the shrine and mosque of Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed, shifting of district Jail Multan outside the city were also approved.
Khattak said funds for the 48-km-long road from Shujaabad to Jalalpur Pirwala had been released.
