KASUR:

A man shot and killed his two daughters in Havali Nathu Wala village within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police on Monday.

Accused identified as Saaed, allegedly murdered his daughters, Alisha and Nadia over suspicions regarding their character.

Honour killings unfortunately remain a common occurrence within Punjab. In October last year, a 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy were allegedly murdered by the girl’s father for ‘honour’ in Kahna area of Lahore.

Reportedly, 17-year-old Farah had eloped from her house three days ago to be with 18-year-old Adnan Maseeh, greatly frustrating her family. On Wednesday, the suspect seized an opportunity shot the victims.

They died from gunshot wounds. Police moved the bodies to a morgue for an autopsy and were investigating the matter after collecting forensic evidence from the crime scene.

In May 2022, two sisters were allegedly killed by relatives over wanting to divorce their husbands.

The victims, both Spanish nationals, had returned to their native Gujrat upon the family’s request, where they were murdered.
