Wahab cites repeated inauguration of K4 project, rising costs, calling for innovative solutions to meet water needs

Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui has expressed optimism about the upcoming development work in Karachi. He said that the politics of accusations has been detrimental to the city.

Addressing a meeting with the business community at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mayor Wahab assured them of resolving the city’s municipal problems.

He emphasised the need for innovative solutions rather than relying solely on bringing in river water, citing the repeated inauguration of the K4 project and its rising cost estimate of Rs125 billion, far exceeding the initial estimate of Rs15 billion.

He said the outdated Hub Dam lines and the consideration of a new canal to provide additional water supply.
