The three-day celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary are under way at the Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal where hundreds of pilgrims are busy performing religious rituals.

Gurdwara Panja Sahib is situated at Hasan Abdal, Punjab, 48 kilometres from Rawalpindi. This is one of the most holy places of Sikhism.

According to details, the three-day celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary were ongoing in the Gurdwara Panja Sahib, in which hundreds of domestic and foreign pilgrims, including 417 Sikh pilgrims from neighbouring India, are busy performing their religious rituals.

The Sikh pilgrims reached Hasan Abdal on the evening of June 24 through special buses under tight security.

Around 400 officers and constables of Attock police were deployed for security, while 17 squads of the elite force have also been stationed. The entrances and exits of Gurdwara Panja Sahib have been closed to all types of traffic by installing barriers.

Sikh pilgrims will leave for Lahore later today.
