Adobe's Lightroom is a widely used editing tool for photographers and graphic designers. While the app has various features, it can be overwhelming for a beginner.

To make things easier to understand, here are some essential tips to help you edit your work easily in Lightroom and achieve great results.

1. Keyboard Shortcuts

With too many options and detailed drop-down menus, editing might consume more time. To make it easier and quicker, you can use keyboard shortcuts from the list here.

2. Use Presets

Photographers usually have a set way of editing their pictures regarding colour grading, tone, warmth or intensity. You often see certain photographers maintaining consistency in their editing. They do so by using presets. Presets allow you to apply pre-defined edits to your photos with just one click. This way, you achieve a consistent editing style and save time.

3. Utilizing the History Panel

When editing a photograph, we often experiment with different options. Sometimes we like the new edit, whereas we might want to return to the previous one. To keep track of all the adjustments made to the current picture, History Panel comes in very handy. You can always go back to the desired edit with this option.

4. Exporting Options

Once you have completed the editing, exporting the file as per desired settings is crucial. To make things efficient, Lightroom has multiple settings that help you export the best kind of output. You can adjust the file format, size, resolution, watermarking, and sharpening to export the correct file type for use.
