DIJKOT:

Villagers in the Tarkhani area took to the streets, blocking the road and shouting slogans against the police due to their frustration over the non-arrest of a policeman, despite a registered case against him.

The incident unfolded when Police Constable Muhammad Tanveer, a resident of Chak No. 45 Gb and stationed at Saddar Samandari police station, engaged in a heated argument within the village. Tanveer shot and injured a young man. In response, the Tarkhani police registered a case against Constable Tanveer under crime numbers 250/23 for assault and 324/148/149 for various charges.

The situation drew the attention of police officers who arrived at the scene and engaged in negotiations with the protestors. The police assured the villagers that the accused constable would be apprehended, leading to the dispersal of the protestors.
