MULTAN:

Commissioner Multan Division Engineer Amir Khattak said that a ban was imposed on swings without fitness certificates during Eidul Azha in order to avoid any accidents across the division.

Chairing a meeting to review arrangements for Eid on Wednesday, the Commissioner directed the local government and Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to inspect swing sets installed at different parks across the city.

He said that swings without fitness certificates would not be allowed during Eid and violators would be dealt with strictly.

He added that a requisition had been sent to the provincial government seeking a ban on bathing in canals and the imposition of section 144 in areas near waterways. He directed the relevant officers to pay special focus to cleanliness at green belts and parks and asked the waste management company not to place waste containers outside the parks. The commissioner also sought a duty roster from WASA, MWMC, Rescue 1122, the Health Department and the PHA for the Eid holidays.
