Mushahid slams Ali Wazir’s arrest as illegal

ISLAMABAD:

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed on Tuesday termed the arrest of MNA Ali Wazir as illegal as it was “against the law,” recently passed by the parliament.

The senator expressed these views while chairing the Senate Standing Committee on Defence meeting, which was convened to address important issues pertaining to national security and the well-being of the citizens, a news release said.

Senator Mushahid maintained that the arrest of Ali Wazir at this time would be detrimental to the security of the borderlands, adding it was also a violation of the law passed by the parliament that explicitly stated that “no member of the parliament should be arrested without the speaker's permission.”
