A landslide in Sena Khor village of Koh-e-Suleman buried alive two men and left two others severely injured.
According to local officials, Faiz Mohammad and Riaz lost their lives in the incident, while the condition of the injured Faraz and Abdul Sattar was stated to be critical.
The landslide occurred after the victims, who were shepherds, sought shelter from scorching heat in the shade of a hill.
The Border Military Police and local residents jointly made efforts to rescue the buried men.
Witnesses complained of a delay in the arrival of rescue workers at the spot.
The bodies of Faiz and Riaz were handed over to their families, while Faraz and Abdul Sattar were transferred to the Civil Hospital in Sakhi Sarwar.
Last year in August, heavy rains had lashed the Koh-e-Sulaiman range for many days, causing unprecedented destruction in the region. Heavy rains on Koh-e-Sulaiman range had flooded the Rod Kohi irrigation channels carrying overflowing water from the hill torrents.
Heavy rains continued unabated in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur in the Koh-e-Sulaiman range.
Flash floods caused by rain had destroyed the Bela bridge, submerging dozens of settlements. The landslide near Fort Munro severed land connection between Balochistan and Punjab. Three children of a family had been killed when roof of a house collapsed in Jhandi, a tribal area.
They were identified as six-year-old Zahida, seven-year-old Muhammad Tahir Khan and eight-year-old Ubaid.
