An acting Assistant District Education Officer Female (ADEO-F) was brutally slaughtered in Landi Kotal area of Khyber tribal district on Saturday.
Police told The Express Tribune that the victim, identified as Rizwana, resident of Bannu, was living in a hostel quarter of Government Girls Primary School Meri Khel in Landi Kotal with her husband and children.
“She was found slaughtered in the house and her husband and children were missing,” said an official of the local police, adding that school guard informed the local police about the murder in the morning.
“She was brutally killed in the night and the attackers managed to escape after committing the crime unnoticed,” he said.
Police took the body into its possession and shifted it to hospital for autopsy.
On the other hand Bannu police claimed that the main suspect in the murder case Najeebullah, who is the husband of the slain education officer had been arrested in a raid in Bannu.
“The husband of Rizwana has been arrested as he was found at his residence in Bannu along his four small children,” said a police official of Bannu, adding that he would be handed over the Landi Kotal police for further investigation.
