IO testifies in murder case

Implicates father of slain minor girl

ISLAMABAD:

An investigation officer (IO) of the capital police Friday testified at a local court against a man accused of killing his daughter and dumping her body at a metro station.

IO Fakhar Abbas told the court that the body was found in November 2021. The deceased was 11 to 12 years old and was identified by her father.

He said the father’s contradictory statements led to police taking his samples. A few days later, the accused came to the station with his brothers and confessed to murdering his daughter by strangulation. The court adjourned the hearing of the case after recording the statement.
