Haripur police arrest two suspects

HARIPUR:

Body of a missing youth was recovered from the mountains of Changi Bandi area of Sarai Saleh in Haripur on Friday.

According to police sources, Muaz Ali, a resident of Changi Bandi, was missing for a few days.

They said initial investigations have led to the arrest of two prime suspects in connection with the murder. The victim's family has alleged that the presence of certain police personnel at the crime scene strongly indicates their involvement in the crime. Moreover, five individuals have been nominated in the FIR by the parents of the deceased.

Sources further said as soon as the information was received, a local police team reached the spot and shifted the body to a morgue.

They added that sensational revelations are expected from the arrested accused. Moreover, the police have handed over the body to the heirs for burial after conducting an autopsy.

Separately in Haripur, a large-scale police crackdown against drug dealers resulted in the arrest of five drug dealers, and recovery of over 8 kgs of hashish. According to a spokesperson for the police, the Khulabat police arrested a suspect named Zubair Wishah, a resident of Sector No 3, allegedly involved in drug peddling.

Another suspect named Zain Zaman was arrested on the recovery of over 1 kg of hashish. He further said the Beer police arrested an alleged drug dealer and recovered over 1 kg of hashish from his possession.
