Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti granted 10 days more to Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar for recovering missing anchorperson Imraz Riaz Khan after the official vowed on Wednesday to leave no stone unturned in this regard.
Responding to a court query about a committee’s efforts for the purpose, Imran Riaz’s counsel Barrister Ali Mian Ashfaq said he hoped that the police would be able to recover the missing journalist soon.
Despite the passage of several weeks, the law enforcement agencies and IGP Anwar have failed so far to produce Imran before the court. He said all out efforts were being made in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies in the case.
“We have contacted NADRA for identification of those who took away the anchorperson,” the informed the court. He stated that the police had information that some foreign phone numbers used in the case belonged to Afghanistan.
