Dijkot reeling from four murders

Incidents motivated by ongoing or old disputes

Multiple incidents of murder were reported across the district on Sunday. They mostly involved members of the same family and were motivated by old grudges or disputes.

A man was allegedly shot and killed by his own son at a car showroom over a property dispute. The incident took place in the Hockey Stadium area, where Rana Karamat Ali was allegedly shot and critically injured by his son, Mudassar Ali.

Rana was rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly killed his brother-in-law and injured his three sons and nephew in Danga.

An enraged Muhammad Afzal fired indiscriminately in the village of Waraichanwala after an argument and allegedly killed his 62-year-old brother-in-law Khalid Mehmood of Dilke. As a result of the firing, Khalid’s three sons, 20-year-old Amanat, 16-year-old Ahmed and 12-year-old Zohaib and his 9-year-old nephew Ali Sher were injured. All casualties were shifted to Kharian Civil Hospital for medical assistance.

Separately, armed men shot and killed a young man to avenge an old grudge. Asghar Ali, a resident of Chak No. 148 RB, told police that he had an ongoing dispute with Rizwan and others. Rizwan and others allegedly shot and injured his son Akhtar Ali to take revenge. The victim was shifted to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a man and his nephew were gunned down in their car to avenge an old enmity in the Sahianwala area.

According to the incident details, 32-year-old Imran Haider was driving to a village with his 19-year-old nephew Hasnain, when armed suspects in cars and astride motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on their vehicle.
