KECH:

Two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Balochistan’s Kech district along the Pakistan-Iran border, the military’s media wing stated on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the martyred soldiers were identified as 34-year-old Sepoy Hasnain Ishtiaq, resident of district Dera Ghazi Khan, and 27-year-old Sepoy Inayat ullah, resident of district Jhal Magsi.

“Since troops on the post were already alert and responded gallantly with all available weapons, a heavy fire exchange ensued,” the ISPR maintained, adding that all terrorists were pushed back successfully.

The military added that security forces have launched an "immediate operation" to clear the area and are in communication with Iranian authorities across as well to deny terrorists any opportunity to escape.

“Security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace and stability all along the borders in Balochistan,” the statement added.

In April, four soldiers embraced martyrdom after a group of terrorists operating from the Iranian side attacked a routine border patrol operating along the Pakistan-Iran border in the Jalgai Sector of Kech district.

According to the ISPR, the martyred soldiers were identified as Naik Shair Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Asghar Ali, Sepoy Muhammad Irfanullah and Sepoy Abdur Rasheed who were critically injured and later embraced martyrdom.

Though we hear claims of cleaning and cleansing the areas from terrorists yet they come out with even more force the next day. More should be done in terms of planning and Pro active approach should be adompted rather than reactionary one.
