Experts at an international conference called for speeding up efforts for sustainable food security solutions in order to raise the productivity to feed the ever-increasing population.

They also stressed on the need for drawing strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The three-day international conference on sustainable food security solution is being hosted by the Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), in collaboration with the Institute of Agriculture Extension, Education and Rural Development of UAF and the University of Karachi.

The conference is being held under the auspices of the CPEC Consortium of Universities.

Chairing the inaugural session, the Director General of CPEC HEC, Dr. Safdar Ali, said that collaboration with China in the agriculture sector would help improve the food security situation in the country.

Prof. Chen Letian, the director of International Affairs, South China Agricultural University, said that agricultural ties were being expanded.
