The Peshawar High Court (PHC) and Bannu Bench has ruled in favour of two separate writ petitions regarding recruitment under the sons’ quota in the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO). The court has emphasised that eligible applicants should be recruited according to the established policy, marking a victory for the petitioners. Both writ petitions have been disposed of. Justices Muhammad Ibrahim, Ijazanur, Sahibzada Asadullah, and Shahid Khan presided over the hearings, which included over 50 petitioners, including Ahmed Rehman.
During the proceedings, Barrister Mossadeq Khan Barki presented the case, highlighting that the petitioners are the children of retired employees of WAPDA/PESCO, who dedicated 25 to 30 years of their lives to the organisation. Post-retirement, these employees' children have applied for recruitment under the allotted 20 percent sons’ quota. After thorough deliberation, the esteemed benches declared that deserving applicants should be recruited in accordance with the law, rules, and policy.
