KARACHI:

A fire erupted in a warehouse storing old clothes, specifically garments from Lunda Bazar, located in the Site Industrial area.

After an arduous struggle lasting approximately three and a half hours, seven fire brigade vehicles successfully brought the fire under control.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in relation to the incident.

Regrettably, the valuable collection of old clothes was reduced to ashes due to the intensity of the fire.

According to reports, the fire was initially reported near Meezan Bank, in front of the Site A police station.

In response, a series of fire brigade vehicles were promptly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters immediately commenced their efforts to extinguish the flames, which were visible from a considerable distance.

In addition to the fire brigade, the police, Rangers, and other rescue teams swiftly arrived at the location.

The fire brigade spokesperson stated that the fire was first reported at 11:10 AM. By the time the initial fire brigade vehicle reached the site, the fire had already intensified significantly.

Recognizing the severity of the situation, additional fire tenders were dispatched, and the water board was requested to provide a tanker to address the water shortage.

Approximately two hours later, the water board sent a tanker to assist in the firefighting operation.

After an intense struggle lasting about three and a half hours, the firefighters managed to bring the fire under control at around 2:30 PM.

However, the cooling process continued until Sunday afternoon.

Tragically, the fire completely destroyed the clothes and other valuable belongings stored in the warehouse. Thankfully, no casualties occurred as a result of the incident.

Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire during the preliminary investigation.
