Listen: Hassan & Roshaan's 'Bandhan' featuring QB is otherworldly

Song offers great musical arrangement and vocal genius

KARACHI:

The dynamic music duo of Hassan and Roshaan have just dropped another great track featuring powerhouse singer Quratulain Baloch (QB). Bandhan is part of the duo's sophomore album Day 5. Previous releases from the record included the massively popular Sukoon featuring Pasoori star Shae Gill, Dil Wali Beat, featuring qawwals Zain and Zohaib of Coke Studio fame, among others.

Bandhan is a groovy number that features all the elements that make up a good song. Essentially a sad party anthem, Hassan Sheikh and Roshaan Sherwani seem to unpack another layer of musical diversity from within themselves with their latest outing. QB shines through with all her might, lending her powerful vocals that bring out varying textures throughout the song.

Hassan does a great job on the vocals too and his voice seems to compliment QB's quite seamlessly. Roshaan's musical arrangement and beat work take the cake for nailing the electronic house soundscape of today's musical age, providing a diverse palette of sound for both singers to play with.

Sarmad Ghafoor of The Legend of Maula Jatt and Qayaas fame has done a brilliant job with the mix and master of the song, making it bigger and better. However, despite the musical brilliance and vocal prowess on display, the lyrics of the song leave much to be desired.

The music video of Bandhan features all performers in glittery attires in dark moody lighting, coupled with intense facial expressions, adding a touch of charisma to the video. The constant visual switching from colour to greyscale also largely adds to the mood of the song.

Bandhan is the 6^th music video and single release from Hassan and Roshaan's sophomore album Day 5, which is available on all major streaming platforms.
