WASHINGTON:

Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, is calling on American investors to seize the growing opportunities in Pakistan’s market of 240 million people and leverage the country’s strategic location to tap into the vast markets of Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

During a meeting with senior executives of PepsiCo at the Pakistani embassy, Ambassador Khan emphasised the potential for businesses to establish and expand their operations in Pakistan and capitalise on the unmet demand driven by a burgeoning middle class and a developing economy. He urged stakeholders to showcase success stories and foster better coordination through road shows and increased business delegation exchanges to facilitate stronger linkages and business networks.

PepsiCo Senior Directors, Mohammad Khosa and Caroline Berson, acknowledged the success of their company in Pakistan’s beverages and food sectors. They highlighted how Pakistan serves as an export hub for their manufactured products, with finished food items being shipped to regional countries like Afghanistan, as well as Qatar, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Khosa informed the ambassador that PepsiCo is investing $80-90 million annually in Pakistan, and they plan to further enhance and diversify their investment.

Ambassador Khan stressed the importance of collaboration among US companies operating in Pakistan, the American Business Forum, the American Business Council, and the US-Pakistan Business Chamber.
