PTI Sindh President transferred to Jacobabad Central Jail

The Sindh Home Department has issued a notification to immediately transfer the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh President and former Federal Minister Ali Zaidi to Jacobabad Central Jail.

Earlier, the Sindh government had allowed him the luxury of house arrest instead of being incarcerated in Jacobabad currently searing in heatwave with temperatures soaring to 43 degree Celsius with forecast of 48 degrees in next two days.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, the notification of Ali Zaidi’s house arrest in his house in Defence Housing Authority has been canceled and now it has been decided to transfer him to District Jail Jacobabad immediately.

Earlier, the Sindh government had issued an order to detain him for one month.

Moreover, a notification has been issued to transfer PTI MPA Firdous Shamim Naqvi to Sukkur Jail. Arrested under the Maintenance of Public Order Act (MPO), Naqvi was arrested in a case, is in Miller Jail on judicial remand.

According to the notification of Sindh Home Department, he has been ordered to be detained for one month under 16 MPO and to be transferred from Malir Jail to District Jail Sukkur immediately.

Zaidi condemns riots

Ali Zaidi has condemned violent incidents that took place on May 9 and demanded action against those responsible.
