ISLAMABAD: Paratha-chai, Roti-salan and Yoghurt-milk are the most popular Sehri meals for Pakistanis, revealed a recently released Gilani Poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan.

In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the country were asked the following multiple choice question:
What do you usually like to take during Sehri?

The poll results revealed that 45% take Paratha-chai during Sehri, 46% Roti-salan and 19% Yoghurt-milk. Four per cent said they do not eat anything and one per cent chose not to respond (the poll had a multiple choice question and the sum may exceed 100).

Interestingly, Paratha-chai is more popular with the rural population (48%) as compared to the urban population (38%). Yoghurt-milk is more popular in urban areas (25%) than with the rural population (16%).

The study was released by the Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2,694 men and women in the rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during August 14-20, 2011.

Error margin is estimated to be approximately ±2-3% at 95% confidence level.
