MULTAN:

Agriculture experts advised farmers to get soil samples analyzed from laboratories, as it will enable them prepare land in accordance with crop and soil needs to obtain a higher yield.

In a statement issued by the Punjab Agriculture Department’s media liaison unit on Sunday, experts said that that soil analysis could unveil necessary information like salinity, crop access to Nitrogen, micronutrients like Potash, Zinc, Boron, presence of organic material, the PH value of soil and the availability of gypsum.

This useful information can help farmers limit how much fertilizer and micronutrient to apply and adopt proper measures to get high production. Giving tips on how to collect a sample from an acre of land, experts said that farmers should collect samples from different parts of the field and mix them to get a compound sample.
