22 killed in road accidents

2,322 injured in 2055 RTCs across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours

At least 22 people were killed and 2,322 were injured in 2055 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Of the injured, 1,390 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 932 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority of RTCs, 73 percent, involved motorbikes.

Further analysis showed that 946 drivers, 149 underage drivers, 290 pedestrians, and 1,108 passengers were among the victims of RTCs. The statistics show that 424 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 472 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list. Faisalabad followed behind with 131 RTCs and 158 victims and Multan at third 109 with 119 victims.

The details further reveal that 2,322 victims were affected by RTCs, including 1,817 males & 527 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 715 were under 18 years of age, 1,103 were between 18 and 40 years old and the remaining 526 victims were reportedly above 40 years of age.

According to the data, 1,973 motorbikes, 92 rickshaws, 212 cars, 33 vans, 4 passenger buses, 6 trucks and 154 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the aforementioned RTCs.
