Sharjeel Memon highlights Sindh govt's self-reliance projects

Provincial govt making all-out efforts for the provision of best services to the people, says info minister

Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the provincial government is implementing self-reliance projects in various sectors, including housing, transportation, health, education, and energy.

Speaking to a delegation of the Foreign Media Journalists Association (FMJA) in Karachi on Saturday, Memon emphasised that the government was taking all-out efforts to provide the best services to the people.

He highlighted that the provincial government had initiated the reconstruction of 2.2 million houses damaged in recent floods and had launched a cheap, comfortable, and reliable transport service to provide relief to the public. The government had also introduced a safe and ideal pink bus service for women, he added.

Memon said that the government had made significant progress in the health sector, with the SIUT, Gambat Institute, NICVD, cyber-knife institute, and other health-related centres performing well. He also mentioned that unprecedented legislation had been passed to empower women in the province, and necessary steps were being taken to safeguard the rights of women and children.

The minister added that Thar coal power project of the provincial government in the energy sector was significant, and the government was making efforts to promote the use of renewable energy sources in the province.

Memon directed the officers of the information department to fully facilitate the journalist community in discharging their professional responsibilities.

The delegation, led by FMJA President Ashraf Khan, was comprised journalists working for foreign media outlets. Information Secretary Sindh Nadeemur Rehman Memon, Director Admin Yousuf Kaboro, Director Press Information Hasan Asghar Naqvi, Director Advertisement Imtiaz Joyo, Director Planning and Development Fida Hussain Baladi, Deputy Director Sarang Latif Chandio, and other officers were also present at the occasion.
