Intellectual property rights: IPO to be made ‘commerce-friendly’

IPO-Pakistan would be made a commerce friendly organisation through strict enforcement of trademarks.

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO-Pakistan) and Member National Assembly Hameedullah Jan Afridi has said that IPO-Pakistan would be made a commerce friendly organisation through strict enforcement of trademarks, patents and copyright infringement laws. He said it is imperative for Pakistan to boost economic activities by promulgation of effective laws. Afridi added that with the assistance of the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, training curses of IPO technical experts have been started.
