Two killed, one injured over land dispute

Nephews allegedly shot down their uncles before fleeing scene

Two men were shot dead by their nephews over a land dispute in the Thakra area of Jalti Police Station. A man was also injured in the firing. The suspects managed to make good their escape.

According to police, two brothers Muhammad Ashraf and Arshad Mahmood, who are uncles to the suspects, were killed in firing over a land dispute while Mohsin Mahmood sustained firearm injuries.

The police reached the spot and shifted the dead and the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Later, the police registered a case and started searching for the fugitives.

A police spokesperson said that CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani took notice of the incident in which two persons were killed and one injured in firing in the area of Jatli Police Station and sought a report from the SP Saddar.

The SP Saddar and the SDPO Gujar Khan have been directed to arrest the accused immediately, he said. The spokesman added that according to initial reports, the incident took place over a land dispute.

“The nephews of the victims shot at them before fleeing away from the scene,” he said. “On being informed about the incident, the DSP Gujar Khan arrived at the spot.
